We bring you news of an unprecedented event: together with top DJ & producer Mousse T. we have recorded an album: SOUL YA 4 ? Mousse T.?s Sexy Funky Disco!
For us, there?s one man that stands above all others in Germany when it comes to flying the flag for danceable Soul & Disco productions: Mousse T.! And the producer/DJ himself became a huge name on the global scene thanks to hits including ?Horny?, ?Is It ?cos I?m Cool?, ?Pop Muzak? and ?Sex Bomb?. So we were dancing on the ceiling when Mousse T. said last year ?Let?s do it, let?s do Soul Ya Vol. 4 together!?
The seeds for the collaboration were sewn over a joint dinner at Mousse T.?s FUNKY KITCHEN restaurant in Hanover in the fall of 2011. The idea was to join forces and create a CD that would satisfy the expectations of all involved. The result would be one CD for daytime chilling-out at home (wavemusic) and a second that would be dancefloor-filler material (Mousse T.). It?s an allround Soul-Power package for any time of the day ? the very finest music from morning to night. The team spent months playing songs, bouncing ideas off each other, making new proposals and finding even better songs before the tracklisting was finally decided. And they certainly managed to assemble a pantheon of music world: Randy Crawford, Quincy Jones, Roachford, Aloe Blacc, Anastacia, Bootsy Collins, Simply Red, Martin Solveig and many more. The collection includes many exclusive Mousse T. remixes as well as previously unreleased songs, such as a brand-new rendering of The Commodores? seminal ?Easy? as a bonus track.
CD 1 SEXY is on the laidback side, in the best wavemusic tradition. A gently flowing succession of Soul-Pop tracks that gradually generate a party atmosphere. And just as you?ve got into the groove, CD 2 FUNKY really lets fly. A dancefloor DJ set of songs personally picked and mixed by Von Mousse T. to deliver a 70-minute-solid Soul-Dance inferno.
Finally there?s the delightful artwork and the packaging of the CD: a gold-embellished hardcover book in a glossy cover, accompanied by a 24-page booklet containing all details on the tracks and artists as well as photos from the world of MOUSSE T.
