The Roger Cicero Jazz Experience was a true labor of love for Roger and his bandmates Matthias Meusel on drums, Hervé Jeanne on bass and Maik Schott on piano and keyboards, as Roger explained in an interview with Jazzthing: "There is nothing as rich in diversity and that can nonetheless be encapsulated in just four little letters as Jazz. We take the liberty of exploring new avenues with our arrangements. And there?s no more effective avenue for experimentation than the traditional free spiritedness of Jazz with its great scope and possibilities." A fantastic example of Roger?s immense joy of performing and his artistic quality is this concert on November 9, 2015 at the Baloise Sessions in Basle, Switzerland, which would be his penultimate concert.
For the four musicians, the Roger Cicero Jazz Experience meant above all artistic freedom, adventure and creatively blurring the boundaries between Pop, Rock and Jazz - and live, an all the more precious experience.
